MDC Alliance leaders consisting of Vice Presidents Tendai Biti , Lynette Kore, deputy spokesperson Chinoputsa, Gladys Hlatywayo and David Chimhini have been arrested at Harvest House as they attempted to access Harvest House.
Secretary for International Relations, Movement for Democratic Change Alliance Gladys Hlatywayo has confirmed the arrest and she says they have been dumped in a room at Harare Central Police station. They have not been charged as yet. She says she fears abduction. “I have been arrested together with VP Biti,VP Kore, Deputy International Relations Leader Lovemore Chinoputsa, DSG Chimhini and Leader Vongai Tome. Our crime is presenting ourselves at MRT House. We are currently at Harare Central Police Station. We have just been dumped in some room at Harare Central Police Station, they refused to book us! We have not been formally charged and we now fear abduction!” she said

Meanwhile the US Embassy has condemned the use of state apparatus to take over Harvest house. The embassy posted, “We are dismayed by the politicized use of security forces to take over the headquarters of an opposition party and arrest its members. A healthy democracy requires healthy opposition parties.”
