BREAKING NEWS: Blue Circle Bus crew robs and rapes passengers
A Harare based local bus operator, Blue Circle Buses is working hand in glove with notorious Bulawayo robbers and rapists. Sources have revealed that thieves pay the bus crew to delay journies between Harare and Bulawayo and after disembarking, the passengers are caught unaware. The robbers pose as taxi drivers and when they are hired, they rob and rape the clients. Others are armed thieves who pounce on unsuspecting people. In March alone, 7 of the total rape cases reported in Bulawayo were master minded by Blue Circle Bus crews. Most robbery cases reported to the police in March alone, were made by people who had disembarked from the Blue Circle Buses.
Members of the public are advised not to board Blue Circle Buses after 12 midday as they reach their destinations at midnight. Blue Circle Buses operate country wide, but the Harare – Bulawayo route is the trap route. In a short interview, a lady had these words to say,
“They depart from Harare at 2pm but get to Bulawayo at 11pm. Their delays are unjustified and they constantly update some people about their positions throughout the journey. This is the reason why we have concluded that they are linked to ruthless Bulawayo rapists and merciless robbers.”
Blue Circle Buses are deliberately violating curfew orders made the government. After departing at a reasonable time, they arrive hours after the 10pm curfew. According to several witnesses, passengers are constantly harrassed in the buses and their complaints are totally rejected. The Harare – Bulawayo route is currently dominated by Stallion Cruise, but other rivals such as Extra City, CAR & Zupco also battle out. Surprisingly, the rest of the buses get to their destinations on time and use an average of 70 minutes per 100km. On the contrary, Blue Circle Buses utilise 120 minutes for 100km.
Some victims of the calculated deception, lose their valuables or their dignity, where as the lucky ones lose extra money to expensive taxis at midnight. Getting robbed or not getting robbed, boarding Blue Circle Buses has surely become risky. Efforts to get comments from the Chief Inspector of Bulawayo are still on going. In the mean time, members of the public are advised to desist from boarding the Blue Circle Buses. Victims of the robberies and rape cases are pleading with The Zimbabwe Republic Police to intervene in the matter before people are killed. The unscrupulous activities done by the Blue Circle Buses crew reveal lack of customer care and an insatiable appetite for money.
Reliable and safe bus operators between Harare and Bulawayo in no particular order, are Stallion Cruise, ZUPCO, Extra City and Bravo Tours. Before boarding a bus, make a sober decision. Members of the public are advised to board registered and authorised transport service providers. Blue and white Honda Fit vehicles are usually used in such robbery cases.
