Nadia Nakai has been making headlines throughout this year. Both her career and her personal life have been in the news at some point in 2021. Nadia Nakai launches her own record label in the midst of rumours of her breakup from Vic Mensa.
Nadia quit the previous record label she had been signed to, Casper Nyovest‘s Family Tree. When she announced that she was quitting Casper Nyovest’s Family Tree in June, fans asked if they were still in good books. Both the rappers told fans that they were cool, and sometimes they even publicly supported each other. Nadia, however, said Casper was a bit sad that she was leaving, Casper even said the same, but he supported her, trying to do her own thing.
Nadia launches Bragga Records

Nadia Nakai took to her Instagram to announce that she has started her record label is called Bragga Records. Bragga is the nickname that Nadia takes up when she raps. She thanked Casper Nyovest and Family Tree in her post, claiming that she would not have been able to do all his without his mentorship throughout the years.
Nadia Nakai’s other business ventures
Nadia Nakai is no stranger to business ventures. She recently partnered up with Redbat to create a new clothing range which she called the Bragga Range. The range features dresses, tracksuits, joggers and workout tops, and the range has the sports scene as its only distributor.
Earlier this year, she announced that she was the official brand ambassador for Russian bear. She signed the contract back in May and has been in partnership with the alcohol label since then.
Her breakup with Vic Mensa
All has not been good this year for her, though. She announced when Lasizwe hosted her on his game Drink or Tell the truth that she had broken up with American rapper and producer Vic Mensa. The two who first met in Ghana for a song took social media by storm when they started posting pictures on vacations together, confirming dating rumours. The South African rapper dismissed the breakup saying that she was ok and it didn’t matter.
With her Record label launch announcement came a promise of new music for her fans.
