Bonang Matheba had one of the most exciting weeks. By now, Bonang has been locked in a legal battle with her previous management Celebrity Services Africa (CSA).
The issue began when Bonang dropped a bomb on her social media pages, saying she had decided to part ways with the company.
Late in 2021, Bonang advised her legal team to start criminal proceedings against the CSA; the whole thing dates back to 2017 when Davin Phillips, who was Matheba’s manager and the executive director at CSA, signed her on to the company. Apparently, he signed another company called Vino Ventures in the same year. Vino Ventures ended up gaining the rights to the products of House of BNG.
The agency said they were allocated to manage Queen B’s Fashion, entertainer and other businesses of hers.
Matheba used her celebrity to attract business to House of BNG and had a very successful launch in 2019, but all hell broke loose when the ownership was brought up in 2021.
According to reports, CSA made a deal with Vino Ventures behind B’s back and the result was that Bonang was cut out as a shareholder. CSA claimed that B knew about this arrangement and that she was going to earn royalties for House of BNG. The company also said she had breached many contracts with them and was requested to give up control of the company.
On Thursday Bonang decided to let everyone know exactly how things are.
In a series of tweets, the multitalented Bonang accused CSA of theft. Bonang accused them 8f stealing from other black creatives in the past.
Matheba called Davin Phillips comical and said House of BNG was facilitated by Sylvester Chauke long before he came.
“….15 years of my HARD work! Do you think you can swoop in and STEAL from me?!! It will be a cold day in HELL, my diye!! @DavinPhillips ❤️”
Bonang went on to say Davin attempted to steal her company and called that a failed heist.
She also mentioned that CSA is in the process of a deregistration process.
All of this came after the TV personality made her feelings known after Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa announced plans to erect a monumental flag for twenty-two million Rands.
Bonang called the Minister out and said he is useless. “You have no clue what you’re doing. Go away! @NathiMthethwaSA”
A decision to review the erection of the flag was announced, and Bonang didn’t hesitate to speak up, saying the project should just be scrapped and not reviewed.
