Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, popularly known as Black Coffee, has been in the music industry for many years. He is currently an International musician who is known and recognized worldwide. The DJ has made headlines once again as Black Coffee teams up with a Moroccan Filmmaker to make a film about DJs.
Hicham Hajji has announced his collaboration with Black Coffee on an upcoming film on Electronic Dance Music. The South African DJ will be an executive producer on the movie called God is a DJ. Hajji has said that the movie’s main aim is to bring this niche music industry to the world through the few people who understand it.

God is a DJ story about a Jewish and a Moroccan man who come together to be a masked DJ duo. The two are suspicious of each other, but they must fight to overcome the suspicions in order for them to take over their local nightclub circuit and make a name for themselves.

Black Coffee to be Executive Producer on God is a DJ
For Black Coffee, this movie will be the second film where he is an executive producer. The first one was 2017’s Wizard. Hajji owns a production company that assists foreign producers to bring their stories to life. Recently he released a film called Redemption Day and has worked on a French political series called The Bureau. God is a DJ is still in pre-production, and the cast has not yet been announced.

Last week Black Coffee celebrated his Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album for his project Subconsciously. He has since relocated and lives in the US, but he celebrated with his friends and family in South Africa. Celebrities like Oskido, Casper Nyovest and Julius Malema graced his celebration party.
For the past two months, he has been touring North America and has been associated with International artists like Drake. Black Coffee has more than ten awards under his belt ever since it debuted his career in 1994
