Mphowabadimo, the winner of Big Brother Mzansi season 3, recently celebrated her seventh year of traditional healing. She took to her Instagram timeline to share her reflections on her journey as a sangoma.
A Gift to be Carried with Grace and Pride
Mphowabadimo expressed gratitude for her gift and the journey she has been on. “Today marks my seventh year anniversary edlozini and still on this journey and not even halfway. I will never exchange my gift for anything because I am because of my gift,” she said.
She went on to explain that she initially thought she was becoming a sangoma just for her family, but later realized that the reasons were much bigger than she had anticipated.
Overcoming Challenges
Mphowabadimo also opened up about the challenges she faced during her initiation and the depression that followed. “After I came back from initiation, I sunk into depression — angry at my ancestors for stealing my youth, trying to find myself and also heal from the abuse iphehlo brought because the journey to self-discovery is not easy,” she said.
In an interview on DJ Sbu’s podcast The Hustler’s Corner, Mphowabadimo further elaborated on her struggles with depression after returning from initiation school.
A New Chapter
Mphowabadimo recently gave birth to a baby boy and shared how motherhood has changed her perspective. “Time flies. Seeing both of my boys together, my heart just melts. That’s the beauty of being a mom. You watch your children grow each day,” she said.
She also mentioned that she is no longer interested in going out partying and that phase of her life is behind her.
