Back With a Bang: Somizi to host Moja Love show, Lovey Dovey
Somizi Mhlongo is about to make a comeback on our screens after disappearing for a while. Somizi was shown the exit door from Idols SA after his estranged husband Mohale Motaung levelled abuse charges against him.
In the backdrop of these daring allegations, the celebrated TV personality was also dropped by Metro FM. He saw himself being cancelled by several brands in the mix of things.
With a divorce pending, it seems as if Somizi has found his feet again. The celebrated TV personality we love to hate is bouncing back to our screens as the host of the Lovey Dovey show.
The show is slated for 18 March. Its format is that of a reality show like Big Brother Mzansi but with more drama capped with thrills as participants looking for love will be locked in one villa under cameras doing all they can to win love.
Somizi returns to small screens with a gig on Moja Love
However, the contestants that win must be willing to get married and get R500 000 in cash. The reality show set will be a five-star Villa overlooking the Vaal dam. The contestants will be put to the test and given challenges to participate in. There will be activities like boat trips, water skiing and sunset cruises to aid a connection between them.
Speaking to the media, Moja Love chief executive Aubrey Tau was pleased with the level of competence the channel was bringing in and the new content coming on air.
“There’s so much to look forward to in the new year on Moja Love. We will have great; entertaining new concept shows such as Lovey Dovey, sitcom shows Umuzi Wabadala and KoStrateng, as well as X-Repo.”
Somizi took it to social media to thank Moja Love for not judging him. He promised Mzansi an epic show to remember. However, it seems as if Somizi has been winning big of late. Rumour has it that his reality show Living the dream with Somizi is also scheduled for returning this year.
