Back with a Bang: Generations: The Legacy confirms the return of “Gadaffi”
Not so long ago Mzansi’s celebrated star actor Vuyo Dabula who plays Gadaffi on Generations: The Legacy made all sorts of headlines when it was reported that he was exiting the show. His exit came barely a few weeks after a mass exodus of seasoned including the likes of Vusi Kunene best known as Jack Mabaso on the show.
However little was known about the reasons behind his exit. Well in the mix of things it seems as if the actor is back with a bang. We’ll finally be able to see Gadaffi with his wife as actor Vuyo Dabula reprises his role as the ‘charming criminal’.
Actor Vuyo Dabula will make his return as Kumkani “Gadaffi” Phakade in Generations: The Legacy after an absence of several months. It seems as if he has already rejoined the cast. According to teasers Gadaffi is set to come along with drama and more trouble. The showrunners confirmed his return through official teasers.

The teaser for the episode reads: “Gadaffi witnesses an interaction and rushes out in a panic.”
This follows rumours that the actor would make an appearance again. The rumours were kick-started when actress Khabonina Qubeka joined the show a few weeks ago as his mysterious wife, Oby Phakade. Who is Gadaffi’s new wife, Oby?
The announcement of his new wife shocked fans because Gadaffi has always been in love with Tshidi Moroka (Letoya Makhene) for as long as he was present on the show. His new wife is a powerful Nigerian diplomat (Khabonina Qubeka) who is connected to all the dodgy characters on the show.
She is for instance connected to Nimrod Nkosi’s character, Nkaba, who is a corrupt politician. She is also related to Jonathan Okri who was a deceitful pastor on the show. However little is known on how long will Gadaffi stay? It is unclear if Dabula will be returning for good.
He is only mentioned twice on August 13 and 27th and never mentioned again throughout the month. The show has seen itself losing lead actors of late. The show lost four main actors namely Vusi Kunene who played the role of Jack Mabaso, Rapulana Seiphemo who played the role of Tau Mogale, Zoe Mthiyane who played the role of Zitha and Moopi Mothibeli who played the role of Smanga Moroka.
