The year hasn’t started off well with many owing to the Covid 19 pandemic that continues to plague the country. On that list is Babes Wodumo and her fiancee, Mampintsha.
Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha’s show that was due to air on Showmax has been shelved owing to the pandemic. The couple has a reality show on the cards, Uthando nodumo that was set to take centre stage this month. The show is a take on their relationship building up to their marriage. Mampintsha proposed to Babes Wodumo last year in October. The proposal came as a shock to fans that have made it clear that they do not approve of the relationship.
Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha’s reality show shelved due to Covid 19
Lobola negotiations for Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha’s wedding were reportedly done in December. The couple was looking forward to their wedding, traditional and white wedding in February all of which would have been part of the reality show. However, with the pandemic still raging, the reality show has been shelved until further notice. Taking its place on Showmax is The Real Housewives of Durban which was initially supposed to air on 1 Magic.
The show is produced by Thomas Gumede and Lungile Radu under Parental Advisory Productions. Showmax publicist, Kevin Kriedemann communicated the schedule changes. “The production is about their traditional and white weddings and has been delayed by Covid-19 until they can have their dream white wedding safely and legally. We’ll update fans with a new launch date as soon as possible,” he said.
DStv also communicated the changes to Real Housewives of Durban. Yolisa Phahle, MultiChoice group CEO for general entertainment and connected video took to communicate the changes.
“We know 1Magic viewers were looking forward to this, so the late schedule change was a difficult call to make. We believe Showmax is a powerful platform for sharing African stories. So, we’re thrilled that The Real Housewives of Durban will be available across the continent (40 African countries).”
