Award-winning actor Madlingozi joins Rhythm City
Award-winning actor Phila Madlingozi set to debut on Etv’s hit soapie Drama Series Rhythm City. Madlingozi son of legendary musical sensation Ringo Madlingozi has scored himself a role in Rhythm City’s cast. Phila’s character role is yet to be availed. Rumor has it that the star actor has already joined the rest of the actors and has already started acting.
Being born by a celebrity means you have big shoes to fill because society at large identify you through your parents and not as yourself. Phila Madlingozi however broke into the industry and created a name for himself outside of his father Ringo Madingozi’s shadow.
Barely six months after making his debut on The Queen, the 2018 golden horn award winner will be acting with a number of veteran actors.
In 2018 Madlingozi walked away with a golden horn at the annual South African Film and TV Drama Awards for the Best Achievement in Orginal music /Score on TV drama series for Isikizi Season 2. Etv’s Head of local Productions Helga Palmer cemented that they were roping in a number of actors to add to their casts.
Madlingozi’s role is set to leave a lot to be desired, as it is not well known especially given his strong cultural background. Rumor has it that the star actor will be debuting as a gay man. In recent years the star actor has been assumed to be gay.
Rhythm City has seen a lot of criticism for late especially the role and style of acting of Khulekani Ngobese. Phila’s role will ruffle a few feathers on one of the most-watched Mzansi soapies. He is set to shake things up.
The versatile star will be also dropping his much-awaited track “Iigaya le ice” according to Rashiky media.
