Angie Motshekga, South Africa’s Basic Education Minister was left with no option but to get her son arrested after he vandalised her vehicles while high on dagga and other substances.
The son, Kabelo slashed the tyres of her vehicles, including a BMW X5, and also scratched rooftops of more than two vehicles.
Earlier on the son had smoked dagga, ate it in cup cakes and took other illegal substances.
The minister opened a case of malicious damage of property at Midrand Police station last Thursday after the incident at her Midrand Home.
In her affidavit, Angie wants to police to bust the source of her misery and she suspects Kabelo is getting drugs from people who drive a white VW City Golf vehicle.
The minister alludes that every time she sees the vehicle around her house, she is almost certain the behaviour of her son changes as he usually isolate himself in the cottage at the house she shares with former ANC chief whip Mathole Motshekga, her mother, three daughters and two helpers.
In her affidavit, Angie wrote that she only realised her cars had been damaged as she was about to take the children to school.
Her BMW X5’s two tyres had been pierced, and she used a Mercedes Benz that was spared from the attack.
Upon returning from the school run, she realised that three more cars had been scratched with a sharp object and tyres had been punctured.
“I am duly aware that the suspected individual of the criminal event is my son Kabelo,” she wrote, according to Sunday World
I personally called police several times about his behaviour, which always changes suddenly, as he can be happy and sad not knowing the reasons of his anger,” said the minister in her statement.
The minister said she sound dagga and other illegal substances in her son’s cottage. She later dropped the case after being advised by a lawyer.
