Piano to the world’s success
Major League said they are taking the amapiano genre to the world, and they are doing just that. We see them globe-trotting to the most prestigious venues to play the genre. And to their success, they managed to sell out tickets for djing in the genre.
Initially, the twins were hip hop DJs and producers. After coming out of their hip hop shell, they hit it big with amapiano. They worked closely with artists like Cassper Nyovest, the late Ricky Rick, Kid X and many more. They also produced the hit single Slyza Tsotsi.
Other South Africans who won BET Awards
In 2016, the Grammy Award-winning artist Black Coffee won South Africa’s first BET in Los Angeles. He was nominated against Cassper Nyovest and AKA, amongst others. He won in the Best International Act category.
In 2018, the singer Sjava won the Best New International Act Award at the BET Awards. If the Major League Djz wins this award, it’ll be the third BET in Mzansi.
