Moya was born in 1983 in Nelspruit, South Africa. He briefly stayed in Nelspruit before leaving for Johannesburg. Afrotraction comes from a music loving family which explains his attachment to music at a young age. Out of true passion for music, Moya taught himself how to play a piano.
