Actress Zola Nombona joins Isono as ‘Zoleka Sigcawu’
Honestly, fortune favours the bold. No doubt she got the plug and the bling. South African star actress Zola Nombona has seen herself trending after bagged a role on Isono.
However, Zola Nombona is more than excited as Isono seems to be her first-ever role in a telenovela. On Isono she will be playing Zoleka Sigcawu.
The actress is not new to our screens. In the wake of her new gig, the star actress has starred on several soapies in recent years. Little was known about her character after Isono indicated that they were adding her to their seasoned cast back then in January.
She once starred on shows such as Lockdown, Single Galz, Forced Love and eHostela, who was over the moon about finally being on a telenovela. The bubbly actress indicated that being on Isono brings about a different vibe. Speaking to the media Zola indicated that it’s different for her and she’s loving it.
“I normally work on short productions with a few episodes, so this is my first time in such an environment. It’s been a very interesting ride and I’m enjoying it.
“I feel fortunate and blessed to be able to tap into these different types of mediums when it comes to acting, whether it’s theatre or a location-based series or telenovela.”

The bubbly actress did indicate that her new character was something Mzansi would for in love with.
“Zoleka is a very strong, confident woman who’s in the sports fraternity. Her character will be close to Makwande (Anga Makubalo). As everyone knows, Makwande used to play soccer and Zoleka will meet him and fall in love. They meet and hit it off.”
She said playing Zoleka was challenging as she’s nothing like the characters she’s played before.
“I started filming with Isonolast year and it’s been absolutely amazing. It’s been a great change for me as an actor,” she said.
“I’m used to being the damsel in distress, and here I’m strong. So I’m quite excited for people to see my performance.”
