Thandeka Mdeliswa dies. Actress Thandeka Mdeliswa has passed. Mdeliswa is best known for her role on SABC 1 show, Ikani. She was 34.
Entertainment Commentator and TV Host Kgopolo Mphela said, “Guys, I’m aware of the cause of death. It wasn’t a car accident or illness. But until the family makes the details available, it’s not my place to share it, for now. It’s a sensitive situation. She passed 2 days ago. My RIP is to not let her death go unacknowledged.”
The family has since confirmed Mdeliswa was shot.
Part of the statement by the family read, “She was shot in Evander, Mpumalanga on Thursday 3 September 2020. She was immediately rushed to Evander hospital, stabilized then airlifted to Witbank after which she was transferred to Steve Biko Academic Hospital (Pretoria) as her condition was critical but stable. She passed on in the morning of the 5th September 2020 (Saturday).”

Thandeka Mdeliswa is known to be the young actress who played 25-year-old Khanya on drama Ikani.. She previously landed minor roles on local soaps Generations: The Legacy, Isidingo and Rhythm City, and a bigger one on the SABC1 short story series Ngempela.
She made her break through after landing a leading role in Ikani, and she said it was “a dream come true” for her.

Thandeka Mdeliswa will be remembered for showcasing the Ndebele culture in the first-ever Ndebele soap opera.
She studied acting at Brumilda‘s Acting Academy and managed her first television role in 2013, starring in an episode of the etv drama anthology series eKasi: Our Stories entitled “Imbiza” The episode first aired on 23 September in 2013.
She returned sometime in the season to play a completely different role, in an episode entitled “Church vs Shebeen” (Season 5, Episode 33), in which a well-respected pastor finds love in a new girlfriend after his wife left 5 years ago.
She guest starred in an episode of the SABC1 docu-drama series Ngempela in 2014 and in 2015 she starred in the movie The Contract.
Thandeka was guest star in an episode of Generations: The Legacy which aired on 11 September, 2016.
In 2018 she starred in another “Lokshin Bioskop” movie on Mzansi Magic, called Imoto Kokufa. The movie is about a young man whose desperation to own a fancy car leads him down a dangerous path when he purchases his boss‘ wife’s stolen car.
Later that year Thandeka landed her first starring role in the SABC1 drama series iKani as Khanya, a young artist who finds out that she is from an isiNdebele family despite being brought up by her aunt as a Zulu. The series premiered on Sunday 30 September, 2018.
