Kuli Roberts has openly talked about her love for adult toys, but this time around, it seems as if it cost her more than she thought. The former Generations actress saw her appointment as the new councillor candidate for the African Transformation Movement cancelled. It was short-lived after Kuli she was told to step down from her duties.
Kuli was contesting as councillor for Ward 65 in Tshwane, but it remains a pipe dream as she got dumped by the political party.
Having been welcomed to the party only a few days ago by Mzwanele Manyi who announced that they had welcomed Kuli to their team on social media, it did not take long for the actress to disappoint her new associates.
Below is the welcoming post a few days ago:
“The only @kuliroberts has joined the winning team. Servant Kuli has signed up to serve the people of South Africa. Servant Kuli is an ATM Councillor Candidate for Ward 65 in Tshwane. We wish her well.”
However, in the wake of their welcome announcement, the party pulled a shocker when they indicated the axing of their new member. The party stated that they could no longer have Kuli running as councillor because of personal circumstances.
“Due to unforeseen and confidential circumstances it is no longer possible to have Nomakula Roberts as a member and ward councilor candidate of the African Transformation Movement,” the statement starts off. “Further to the above Ms. Nomakula Roberts has to step down both as the member and ward councillor candidate at the ATM.”
In the mix of things, rumour has it that Roberts was axed from the party after her adult toys sentiment. Roberts recently indicated that she opts for toys than anything, and she was more than comfortable with them. Well, her sentiments didn’t go well with Mzansi, given her new party role.
However, it also happens that she has been axed from Sunday World too. It seems as if her world is crumbling again.
Sunday World suspended Kuli as lifestyle editor, and her suspension came after joining ATM. Kuli Roberts violated the Press Code, and the management was reportedly shocked to learn about Kuli’s political moves and had to take disciplinary action.
“After long and careful deliberations, the management committee unanimously decided to suspend Roberts with immediate effect for allegedly violating the Press Code and bringing the company into disrepute,” reads an editorial published by Wally Mbhele.
