Actor Mangaliso Ngema responds to sexual misconduct allegations made about him.
Embattled fired Lithapo actor Mangaliso Ngema has taken to social media to explain his side of the story after sexual misconduct allegations were leveled against his name.
Actress Lorraine Moropa who plays Pabi on Lithapo posted on social media about how she was sexually abused by Ngema on set. She revealed how he constantly made nasty sexual comments about her body structure and dressing.
She expressed betrayal by Ngema, an elder in the acting industry and always looked up to him for advice and guidance.
“Your senior, someone who’s meant to guide and protect you in the entertainment industry violates your human rights, that’s not even half the pain.”
Mangaliso Ngema allegedly offered the actress a furnished apartment in exchange for sexual favour, allegations he denied afterward.
Lorraine Moropa gained support from other actresses who were once abused by the same perpetrator including Altovise Lawrence who also claimed to have experienced sexual abuse from Mangaliso Ngema.
Previously Savannanews reported that Mangaliso Ngema has ever since been fired from Lithapo over the sexual abuse allegations. His contract has been terminated by Quizzical, the production company behind the SABC2 telenovela.
With the help of his PR and legal team, Ngema managed to give his side of the story. Ngema pinned all these allegations on a mere misunderstanding, he claimed that Lorraine Moropa misread his actions towards her and has ever since reached out to apologize.

“I was inspecting my tight pants to see if they were not torn, when I raised my head I saw her looking at me from a distance then she thought I was playing with myself which is not the case.
“It’s very confusing for me, this is someone who often asks me to give her a shoulder message. Even on the day of the accusation she later asked me for a massage, how would it have looked if I was the one constantly asking her for a massage?”

Altovise Lawrence allegedly accused Mangaliso of trying to lure her with a furnished apartment.
He told me that I’m sexy, asked me how far down my tattoos go. He has undressed me with his eyes. He offered to furnish my apartment in exchange for sex. He has bitten his lip when I’ve exited the change-room
Ngema denied the allegations and claimed that he was misunderstood
“She was struggling… out of the goodness of my heart I offered her a furnished cottage at my house. I wanna apologize to all the women, whose wounds have been reopened because of hearing about these allegations”
