Absa Premiership teams closely monitoring Da Gama’s situation
Absa Premiership big clubs are said to be eyeing for Former National Under 23 head coach and Highlands Park tactician Owen Da Gama signature after a fruitful campaign in the just ended Absa Premiership season.
Despite still having a running contract with Highlands Park. The 59-year-old previously admitted that Limpopo outfit Tshakhuma Tsa Madzhivandila approached him if he can guide them for honors in the upcoming season, as head coach.
Da Gama managed to secure 9th place spot for the Lions of the North in the just-ended season just shy from the coveted 8th position spot due to goal difference.
The selling of Highlands Park to Tim Sakuli owner of TS Galaxy has cast the nets wide for PSL teams to enquire for his signature since he is yet to come to the drawing board with the new owners to map a way forward.
Three teams already in contact with Da Gama
The former Pirates gaffer admitted that there were three teams who were keen for his services but was yet to table talks with them after getting a green light from Highlands since he still has a year with them.
“Well the team was sold, and I have to admit I’m disappointed. I still have a contract that binds me with them and I have to honor that. If the league approves the deal, then the new owner has to address us regarding existing contracts, Da Gama said.
Da Gama admitted that his futures clarity will be known in the few weeks to come since he still has a running contract with Parks.
