Rachel Kolisi Calls for Prayers for Siya: ‘God Has Done It Before’
Rachel Kolisi has taken to social media to ask her followers to join her in praying for her husband, injured Springbok captain Siya Kolisi.
She wrote on Instagram:
“Hey friends!
Believing for a miracle. Would really appreciate if you could take a minute out your day to pray with us!
I’ve seen God do it before and believe he will do it again.
‘Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.’

Siya Kolisi suffered a partial tear to his ACL and injured his meniscus on both sides of his knee during a match against Munster. He now faces two options for treatment: one that would end his chances of playing in the 2023 Rugby World Cup and another that puts him on a tight timeline.
A source from SA Rugby stated that Kolisi has consulted with specialists and is seeking another opinion. If he chooses surgery, he will likely be unable to play for the rest of the year. Alternatively, he could let the injury heal naturally, which could take up to four months. Kolisi is set to join French club Racing 92 after the World Cup.

When will Siya Kolisi play again?
The Springboks will begin their international season on Saturday, July 8th, when they face off against Australia in Pretoria. This match is part of the opening round of the Castle Lager Rugby Championship, which has been shortened this year. After their match against Australia, the Springboks will play against New Zealand at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland on July 15th and then against Argentina in Johannesburg on July 29th. This will be their last match on home soil for the year.
The Springboks will travel to Buenos Aires in August to play against the Pumas. They will then play two Rugby World Cup warm-up matches against Wales and New Zealand in Cardiff and London, respectively.
The Springboks will begin their Rugby World Cup title defense on September 10th when they play against Scotland in Marseille. They will then play pool matches against Romania in Bordeaux on September 17th, Ireland in Paris on September 23rd, and Tonga in Marseille on October 1st.
The Rugby World Cup quarter-finals will take place on October 14th and 15th, followed by the semi-finals on October 20th and 21st. The final match of the Rugby World Cup will be played on Saturday, October 28th.
