Pictures: AKA’s pep talk to Nadia Nakai resurfaces for comfort
Nadia Nakai shares a comforting message from her late boyfriend, AKA, sent days before his death. AKA, whose real name is Kiernan Forbes, was shot dead on February 10 and his murder is still under investigation. Nadia has been open about her struggles following the rapper’s death and recently shared a WhatsApp conversation on Instagram where AKA encouraged her in her work.
Nadia said, looking back at the messages that gave her comfort.
“Every time I feel nervous, I’m going to read this. I miss you,” she wrote.
Nadia Nakai has previously shared WhatsApp messages with AKA. In March, she revealed their last conversation, where she urged him to stay safe during a trip to Durban for a gig, and they expressed their love. After taking a break to mourn her partner’s death, Nadia returned to work with support from loved ones and fans.
On Monday, she shared on social media that the love and support she received assured her that she would be okay.
“Thank you to everyone who supported me as I went back to work. I am grateful for what people did for me to make sure I’m OK.
“Sometimes I feel I’m undeserving of the support, the messages, the hugs and love from my friends, family, fans, as well as the venues I worked this weekend. It really gave me hope that I will be OK … There are so many genuinely good people out there and I’ll never take it for granted. Thank you guys!”
