uMahlomu Says Goodbye: Mbalenhle Mavimbela Bids Farewell to the Wife. Actress Mbalenhle Mavimbela has said goodbye to her role in the Showmax hit telenovela, “The Wife.”
This departure follows other fan-favourite characters, such as Bonko Khoza, Abdul Khoza, and Zikhona Sodlaka, earlier in the third season.
Mavimbela, who played Hlomu, was with the show from its inception, but her time on the show has unfortunately ended. Last week, she took to her Instagram page to share a video of her final moments on set.
The video shows Mavimbela surrounded by the cast and crew while holding a bouquet. She wrote:
“It’s a picture wrap for uMahlomu. I walked into this production a young lady and left as a wise woman. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and has been a part of my journey from the very beginning.”

She also expressed her gratitude to Showmax, Stained Glass, and DSTV for the opportunity.
“A HUGE thank you to @showmaxonline, @stainedglasstv1, and @dstvza for this amazing opportunity. Last, a special thank you to the 5 AM gang for sticking with me through all the seasons.”
The air has been thick with tension, but fans of “The Wife” can finally relax and calm their frayed nerves on February 16th and 23rd, 2023, when the award-winning, Twitter-trending telenovela takes a two-week break from broadcasting.
On March 2nd, 2023, “The Wife” will return to answer all of the lingering questions before the third and final season comes to a close on April 6th, 2023.
How will the toxic love affair between Mqhele and Hlomu end? Will Qhaledi’s families’ rivalries prevent them from reuniting and living happily ever after? And what is Xoli’s next move? So many questions and so little time to find out.
Actor Linda Majola has also bid farewell to the telenovela, as he marked his final day on set. He shared cherished memories and experiences and expressed his gratitude to everyone for their support.
