Embarrassing: Morda returns Black Motion’s music equipment valued at R243 312,30. As embarrassing as it is, reports have it that former Black Motion group member, Morda, is said to have returned the equipment he was accused of stealing from the group.
The news of his arrest flooded social media in December, a few weeks after their dramatic split. We can all agree that their split was unfair, as they ended up serving each other with lawsuits.
A few months ago, he made all sorts of headlines when he was taken to court by his former group. He was charged with vandalism of property and theft.
However, to maintain his image, he rubbished the allegations levelled against him. The courts said otherwise and demanded he returns the stolen property and renovation bills for the damaged property at the studio.
Spirit Motion, the record label, accused Black Motion of theft and filed a lawsuit against Morda, accusing him of theft of music equipment to the value of R243 312,30.
Well, in the backdrop of the drama, the record label has made it known a round table is on the cards for the future in regards to the future of Spirit Motion.

Of interest is the fact that they will try to strike a common ground between the two of them since they are all capacitated as Spirit Motion directors.
“Spirit Motion would like to record that Black Motion members Thabo Mabongwa, Smol, and Bongani Mahosana, aka Murdahbongz, have not parted ways. Black Motion still exists and has plans for more years to come.”
“And regarding the sit-down discussion, the directors are Thabo and Bongani, so we, as Bongani’s representatives and Thabo’s representatives, will be having a round table discussion to discuss the future of Spirit Motion as a company,” he added.
A close source to the duo has it that Morda returned the equipment and that there is no animosity between them as peddled by tabloids and social media.
“He was supposed to return it, so it was bound to produce. It is not like they are excited or over the moon. It didn’t belong to him in the first place.
He didn’t bring the equipment himself, he sent someone to return it, but he kept the keyboard which they will demand to be returned as well. They want him to apologise; there is no animosity whatsoever. They want to know what the reason behind all of this was,” said the source.
But Morda’s legal representatives said the equipment belongs to Morda and Thabo Smol, his former group member.
“Bongani went to the property, took the property [equipment], went, and used it, and they, for a reason unknown to us, went to court and made it seem as though our client stole the property. Our client didn’t steal the property, which is why the case is deregistered. It never came to fruition because there was no base for a criminal charge of the property. He used it and returned it. Remember, he is a part owner of the property,” Neo Mashele said.
