Presidential Clique: DJ Shimza confirms relationship with Spokesperson to the Presidency, Athi Geleba
He has the plug and the bling too. In recent years he has managed to keep his love life under wraps. We can all agree on the fact that he has fast become one of the biggest DJs to ever come from South Africa.
His unmatched flair has thrust him on the international stage, joining the likes of Granny Award Winner Black Coffee, DJ Fresh and Euphonik.
Despite his fame, he has managed to hog headlines of late, From his controversial businesses to personal relationships. He went down in the history books when he hosted his largest one-person show to date at the Sun Arena in Pretoria.
Back then, in 2020, he made headlines when it was rumoured that Shimza and Spokesperson to the Presidency, Athi Geleba were an item.
However, the daring allegations came in the backdrop of a series of pictures that flooded social media.
The two had posted images from Shimza’s closet, and social media quickly put two and two together and decided that the two were an item.

The two managed to bluetick the daring allegations in the mix of things. Fast-forward to May 2021, Shimza and Athi’s then-speculated relationship was back making headlines.
After all, it seems as if the two cannot hide it anymore. Shimza took it to social media to wish Athi a happy birthday.

However, Athi had already teased the announcement even before the official post. She took to her social media to share a picture of her little family, which included Shimza’s daughter in the image.
While the two have confirmed their relationship status. From the comments on his Instagram post, it does seem that the couple has not tied the knot despite establishing their long-term relationship.
His business empire has thrust him into the spotlight of late. Mzansi is now more than convinced that his businesses, like his restaurant, The Hang Awt, were allegedly unduly benefitting from the fact that the two were dating. A restaurant has also faced allegations of exploiting its workers.
Of course, Shimza denied the allegations that he had unduly benefited from his connections with the ruling party. This is because he was emphatic that all the tenders he received from the government were earned from merit rather than who he was dating or not dating.
