Mmabatho Montsho has done almost everything entertainment since she made her debut as an artist. The actress is one of those talents who have their hands in nearly every cookie jar and make it big in each one. According to her Instagram stories, Mmabatho Montsho is celebrating her birthday today. Looking at the famous actress, one would assume she is in her early thirties or late twenties because of her youthful looks. However, it has shocked some of her fans that the actress is celebrating 39 years of age. The star does not look a day older than 29 and is the definition of black don’t crack.
Mmabatho Montsho’s business empire
Fresh out of High School, Mmabatho started by launching her fashion label. She did it in collaboration with a high school friend, who sold their clothes at the B&B Rooftop Market. They became famous when their line was shown at the South African Fashion Week in 2004.
Her acting career
Because Montsho loved languages and Arts, Mmabatho studied towards an audiovisual multimedia degree at the University of South Africa. She was cast in Generations while still at school, which became her breakout role. A few years later, she had one of the lead roles in Jacob’s Cross, playing Lerato, who was Jacob’s wife. After that, she is known for her roles in Rhythm City, Tempy Pushas, Zaziwa and many more. She is a two-time SAFTAs host for the 10th and 12th seasons of the show.
Mmabatho is an Award-winning director
Mmabatho expanded her knowledge of the acting industry when she studied a directing course in Los Angeles in 2010. After that, she does some acting, but she is mainly behind the scenes as a director. Her directing credits include Scandal and even SABC 1 sitcom Thuli noThulani Recently, a film she produced won an International award at the Paris International Film Festival. The Film is called Benjamin is not here any more and she is the Producer of it.
