20 year old man sets girlfriend on fire in Welkom, Free State. Free State SAPS police have arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly pouring a paraffin on his girlfriend and setting her on fire in Thabong, Welkom.
The 15 year old girlfriend’s body was found dumped in the bushes triggering a protest by residents.
Angry residents of Welkom in the Free State say they’re living in fear following the spate of killings of young women. The area has experienced a number of killings in which bodies of the victims were found dumped in bushes and dumping sites.

” We as the youth of Hani Park, we are very angry with this. We want it to end,” says one resident.
“This thing of man going around killing young women is not sitting well with us. The justice system is not doing a great job,” added another frustrated resident.
