American singer Kehlani was recently in South Africa and enjoying every moment of her visit. She got to perform and interact with her fans from South Africa, learning and embracing the culture. Kehlani also got to show some love to Uncle Waffles, who is undoubtedly the year’s breakout star.
In her Interview with Silkour On Life, she opened up about several things. Kehlani talked about the inspiration behind her work and her journey to being one of the biggest names in the music industry. She not only talks about her life as a musician but also about her spiritual journey and how she connected with a new religion in West Africa. On a lighter note, Kehlani was even taught how South Africans pronounce her name, and she embraced it and urged her fans to call her that.

During the interview, she was asked if there was any talent from South Africa that she had checked out. Kehlani quickly jumped in with an answer, saying she had checked out Uncle Waffles. In her own words, Kehlani says that Uncle Waffles is fine, and it’s a fact. She says that the world is on the same page and has to agree that Uncle Waffles is fine. Her host says that Uncle Waffles is killing the game and Kehlani agrees.

Uncle Waffles shared the clip from the interview with shock emojis on her Twitter account. The DJ can not believe the love and praise she gets from the International artist. Many people in her comment section tell Uncle Waffles that she deserves the recognition that she is getting from big names in music. This is not the first time an American artist shows Uncle Waffles some love, as Drake was the first to do it.
Last year Uncle Waffles broke out as a DJ and began making waves when people captured her during a set. Her style and dance moves made her a trend on the internet, and she has not looked back ever since. She went from being a DJ perfoming on a set that was not supposed to be hers to one of the most booked female DJs in the continent within a year. She has even debuted jobs on International radio stations and debuted her EP.
