People are being turned away from entering Harare CBD town at road blocks in an unusual manner, citizens are reporting. Today is Zimbabwe’s National Day of Prayer and Fasting.
On a normal day, only a few people are denied entry in town but today dozens of people are being returned home. Suspicion is rife that the security forces manning road blocks are forcing people to stay home and observe the national day of prayer and fasting declared by President ED Mnangagwa.
Team Pachedu, a social media influencer posted, “The police are not allowing people into Harare CBD and they are lying that today is a public holiday. ”
Pedzisai Ruhanya, prominent journalist posted, ”
