Kirvan Fortuin a choreographer, dancer and LGBTQI activist was killed in Cape Flats.
Fortuin was reportedly stabbed to death by a 14 year old girl in the Cape Flats. He was an activist who hosted CPT’s first Vogue Ball in observance of World AIDS Day in 2019.
Kirvan worked diligently to bring awareness and education on the HIV/AIDS pendamic and its effects on the disenfranchised communities.
In 2019, he was recipient of a Ministerial Award from the Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport.
Police have confirmed that a 14-year-old girl has been arrested in connection with the murder of dancer and choreographer Kirvan Fortuin. 28-year-old Fortuin was stabbed and died on his way to hospital in the early hours of Saturday.

Kirvan Fortuin was a South African dancer and Choreographer, who lived in South Africa and Netherlands. At the point of his death Kirvan worked as a freelance dancer and choreographer and the founder of Kirvan Fortuin Foundation.
