South African seasoned actor Melusi Yeni has been in the showbiz for over a decade and has played many family-man roles on Television. His recent role on Isifiso has had Mzansi talking and glued to their screens as he played the perfect father with several failing relationships with women. Melusi Yeni’s role in Isifiso as Sibonelo
The seasoned actor took on the role of Sibonelo, a wealthy man with a franchisee of butcheries who also lives in a mansion with his wife and kids. On the down-low, Sibonelo was having an affair with his wife’s best friends, and when his wife died after being pushed down the stairs, he found it hard to move on. His mistress and sister-in-law were competing to be his next Mrs, and he got torn between the two women.
The truth that his sister-in-law, Bazo, had murdered Sibonelo’s wife came out, and an attempt to kill her failed, devastating him. The season finale found Sibonelo being set up for the death of his mistress and getting arrested while Bazo took over his home and life, leaving him with questions.
Melusi Yeni’s wife in real life
Melusi Yeni, who takes on the role of Sibonelo’s love life in real life, was just as dramatic as his on-screen character without the many deaths. Currently, the actor is happily married to an unidentified woman from Matatiel, but before that, he was a player whose life spilt over to his career.
Melusi was called out for being a deadbeat dad to his children
In 2014, Melusi Yeni made headlines when he was called out and taken to court by his baby mama for not supporting his child. The actor was being sued for R1.3 million maintenance until his child reached 18. This child was fathered in a one-stand with the woman who lived next door to him, Palesa Yvodia Molemela.
After his maintenance case was all over the news, Melusi had a public spat with his girlfriend, who he had on the set of Muvhango. The woman called Angela Dzara was a make-up artist who was infuriated that the actor had not told her he had a child and insulted him before the crew. Angela resigned from her job after the altercation, and Melusi was fired shortly after. When he got married in 2018, he trended after it got to the gossipville that he did not tell his two daughters that he was getting married, and they only knew through WhatsApp statuses.
