The South African DJ duo, who are also twins, Major League DJz, have made world history by playing the longest set in the Balcony mix. The duo has been staying in the headlines more frequently than usual in the past few months, and the limelight loves them. Major League DJz have the longest set
The DJ duo, in collaboration with Empawa Africa, announced a few days ago that they were partnering on the Balcony Mix Xperience: The Book of the music journey. The two set out to make a historical feat as they set a new record as the longest DJ duo set to perform ever. The two played only Amapiano music on their set under the theme Amapiano to the world.
Their set was filled with so much fun as people came in to support the artists in their music. On the second day of their Balcony experience, the show sold out, and it was looking up for the two as they looked forward to two more days. It was only yesterday when the 75 hours of their set ended. The two shared it with their fans on their Instagram page as their comment section was filled with congratulatory messages.
World Dj sets records
It’s not new for DJs to hold records of the longest sets in the world. They do this as duos or solo acts, and even though the Major League DJz have broken the DJ duo record, the solo record is far ahead of them. That record was broken back in 2016 when a Nigerian DJ called Obi. He held a set for ten days and some hours to make it 250 hours set. That record is yet to be beaten by so far; he is the longest solo DJ set holder.
Major League DJz has been in the news recently as they scored a BET award nomination a few months after signing to Atlantic Records. The duo has been getting bookings overseas and perfoming in the USA, the UK and many other countries. They have helped put South African music on the map with their sets.
