The end is near: Actor Rapulana Seiphemo ‘Hector’ bows out from The Queen after the drama series was cancelled
A few months ago, it was reported that Mzansi’s Magic drama series The Queen would be coming to an end. However, in the wake of that news, Mzansi was shellshocked to learn about the canning of the drama series after airing for at least seven years. Mzansi Magic revealed that the drama series we all love to hate wouldn’t be renewed for another season.
Close sources have it that it has been confirmed that The Queen contract won’t be renewed for another season. Entertainment blogger Phil Mphela took it to Twitter to break the cancellation news. Taking to Twitter, Mphela tweeted:
“After almost seven years on air, the Mzansi Magic telenovela will not be renewed for another season. Barring any changes to accommodate wrapping the storylines, the show will likely end this year.”
The drama series has lost its plot and is struggling with viewership. In the past two years, it has been toppled by Gomora as the most-watched drama series on Mzansi Magic.

However, the drama series joins a host of series which have been axed, like iSibaya. As the drama serotonin wraps its season, it has been capped with drama full of drama. We can all agree the drama series storyline has done more than justice in exiting lead actors from the cast.
In the wake of the drama series axing, the show has been hit by a mass exodus. The exodus has seen the lead cast dumping the drama series in the eleventh hour. Despite dumping Generations for The Queen, Rapulana Seiphemo, who stars as Hector, has kissed his on-screen character goodbye.

However, of interest is that the showrunners have managed to write off three lead characters in the space of one week. After being dumped, the bubbly and desperate Harriet hires snipers to take out Hector. Whilst glowing and looking loved up, Hector is taken out by a sniper.
However, of interest is that Cebo escaped death by a whisker after Thando’s character, played by Jessica Nkosi, confused him with the hitman. Instead, Thando shot MaJali at point blank after Cebo dodged the bullets.
