Nandipa Khubone has been excellent in her role on Gomora as Sibongile, a teenage girl who dates older men to secure the bag. Her role is her first acting gig, but she is killing it with perfection. Proving that she is a master of her craft Sibongile keeps Gomora viewers glued to their small screens.
Over the Gomora storyline, Sibongile is Don Buthelezi’s daughter who found refuge in Zodwa’s household. Famously known amongst her peers as Sbosh, Sibongile arrived in Gomora with an attitude. After Don’s death, she continued to stay with her half-brother Teddy (Sicelo Buthelezi) and Zodwa.
Sibongile’s love for a soft life has landed her in a dilemma that upset her blesser, Mr Duncan Leballo a blessed who preyed on vulnerable school girls. Her guardians Zodwa (played by Sannah Mchunu) and Bongani (played by Thulani Mtsweni), found out their daughter was having a relationship with a blesser, and they reported the case to the police. The police took the issue into their own hands, and Duncan is to face the law for statutory rape.
Gomora actress Sibongile ‘Nandipa Khubone’s salary stuns Mzansi
Despite Gomora being one of the low-budget drama series in Mzansi, the showrunners of the show have managed to pay their actors handsomely. As a new actress, Nandipa Khubone is being paid R28,000 monthly, something reasonable for a supporting actress. Not long ago, rumours made rounds on social media that Gomora has revised its salaries after becoming one of Mzansi’s soapie powerhouse.
A look at Nandipa Khubone’s acting career
To improve her entertainment skills, Nandipa went to study at the New York Film Academy for a degree in Filming, Directing and Producing. After graduating with her honours degree, she struggled to get a job as there was so much competition in the entertainment industry. However, fortune favours the bold ones, and she won her first acting role on Gomora as Sibongile in 2020. Nandipa is slaying her role quite well and slowly becoming Mzansi’s favourite actress.
