George Floyd worked in a restaurant. His employer, the owner of a restaurant says George Floyd was a loved person who worked there for 5 years. Most of the workmates who spoke to Fox says he was a very friendly person.

Floyd was a family man, and had a wife and children. There is not enough information about his parents as yet.
“To see someone suffer like that and to have so many people around him basically asking them to allow him to live,” said one of the cousins who is based in Texas. One of the cousins saw the video not knowing it was their relative. She said, “I remember seeing this video and thinking how hard it is going to be for the family of the person who is suffering like that. After five minutes i got the phone call that it was actually George my cousin. I tried to watch the clip again, but when i heard the first time he said i cant breathe, i couldn’t take it any more. I broke down.” The Texas based cousins says they grew up in the same house with Floyd. They said he was a father, a family man and everyone’s favourite relative. They expressed gratitude to the by stander who recorded the video.
The police officers who killed George Floyd
The police officers who suffocated George Floyd to death were fired in less than 12 hours after the incident. The names of the Minneapolis police officers have not been published as yet.
Protests
Black Americans have protested over the death of their colleague. Black lives matter has also begun trending across the world as African Americans and other black people express their anger over the Minneapolis police officers actions.
