Black Coffee was named the executive producer on Drake’s upcoming album
Black Coffee is making international power moves! American rapper and producer Aubrey ‘Drake’ Graham released something unique. He released an album cover and a list of the 14 tracks in the album. At the bottom of the track list release, Black Coffee is named as one of the album’s executive producers.
As we know, the American rapper is one of the most iconic artists of all time. Drake’s album is titled Honestly Nevermind. Black Coffee making it to his list of executive producers means he is now of the more global standard.
Executive producer
An executive musical producer is someone who runs the show whilst the music is being created. Executive producers tell the artist how to sing a specific note over a certain beat. Meaning they help the artist make the music in the creative process.
Usually, they are also responsible for songwriting as well. After the music is made, they decide with the artist as a unit about the release date. The team makes all other decisions in the future in terms of marketing and distribution.
Black Coffee reposts the tracklist.
Black Coffee didn’t even hint at working with Drake for the past few months. After the Hotline Bling hitmaker posted the track list, Black Coffee reposted it on his stories. The Grammy Award-winning DJ didn’t even write any words to caption the repost. He made no fuss about this milestone.
Other executive producers
Some of the other executive producers named on the album are as follows. Drake himself is first on the list. Others include Noah 40 Shebib, Oliver-El-Khalib and Noel Cadastre.
Mzansi reacts
As we know, many international artists are gaining interest in the genre. Mzansi congratulated Black Coffee for being on the list. Some, however, shared the sentiments the DJ might be doing an amapiano song on the album. All in all, Mzansi is impressed, and most people are inspired.
