Is Backstage star actor Ziggy ‘Charl Timotheus’ dead or alive?
Several death hoaxes articles have flooded social media insinuating the actor is dead but well that’s a lie. From starring in Backstage to hanging with the big boys Charl Timotheus has been winning big offscreen. The celebrated South African actor is best known for his on-screen character on etvs iconic drama series Backstage.
He was part of the star-studded cast of the drama series and managed to wow Mzansi for at least seven years from 2000 up until 2007. Backstage was a South African youth show which was produced by Bottom Line Productions.
However, the drama series has since been credited for producing some of the finest talents to ever grace small screens. Well in the backdrop of its canning many questions have been asked about its star-studded cast concerning their whereabouts. After all, we have managed to track down Ziggy.

In 2005 he went down in the history books when his Tjooning show became the first show to be aired within a show. Since his exit from Backstage, he starred in several drama series before making it big behind small screens. He starred in several series like Malan en Kie, Vallei van Sluiers I and II, Get Out Alive and Taryn & Sharon.
In 2018 he starred in the SABC2 drama series 7de Laan as “Dylan”. He also made a cameo appearance on Rhythm City. Of late he has been making bossy moves behind small screens.
The actor has also worked as a content producer for Urban Brew Studios, and one of the senior YO-TV producers in charge of live shows.
After years off social media, he returned with a bang in 2020 when he shared a series of pictures of his wedding. Well, Mzansi was more than wowed and inspired with his love story. Taking it to Instagram he posted:
