“I am always crying” Watch as Sbahle Mpisane breaks down into tears speaking of her failed suicide.
Mental health issues are rising daily in the country, with suicide cases rising across the country. According to recent reports from Sapien Labs, South Africa ranked among the lowest scorers in terms of mental health. A few months ago, serial Hip-hop award winner Riky Rick took his life after showing a series of depression signs. Fans, family and organisations seemed to be turning a blind eye to Rick’s mental issues until he took his life.
A few years ago, it seemed that mental health was an issue for the poor, but now the condition has spread across different races, financial statuses etc. In the past four years, Sbahle Mpisane tried to take her own life several times. In one of her attempts, she had to stay in a comma for over three weeks with a swollen brain. It took the fitness lady a lot of courage to share her depression journey, but she couldn’t hold it anymore. She broke into tears as she detailed her journey and how she was coping.

It is always a very emotional case for a suicide survivor to open up with the whole country listening. Congrats to Sbahle for having such courage, at least to face social pressure and open up about what she went through. Sbahle said she vowed to God that she wouldn’t do it again. Despite opening up on everything, she still receives blackmail from social media, which hurts her. She said that she always cries because of the hate she receives and how people judge her. Before going any further, the fitness Bunnie was all in tears as her emotions caught her.

How is Sbahle Mpisane managing to live well after several failed suicide attempts?
One thing that Sbahle has at her disposal is a loving and caring family that is always there to support her. When she went on a comma, that was a moment her family showed Mzansi that they were united and together. Everyone in the family seemed to be giving her so much support, especially MaMkhize herself.
On her own, Sbahle does a lot of workouts that help her physically and mentally. She is always in the gym doing what she loves, enabling her to go through challenging phases of her journey.
