Zolisa Xaluva made headlines after his sudden exit from the most-watched show Gomora. He was top-notching in his role as Melusi, the problematic, cheating husband of Gladys (played by Thembi Sette). His role made him a household name and Mzansi’s favourite actor. However, the news of him leaving Gomora for greener pastures left Mzansi heartbroken as they were used to seeing him showing off his phenomenal acting skills.
His character onset was sentenced to life in jail after killing Phumulani, who also exited the show. Melusi was playing a lead role, and his acting skills were why Gomora gained a considerable following. He was a highly educated man, involved in a love triangle with Thati (his high school sweetheart) and Gladys (his wife). He had to sacrifice his own life to save his soulmate Thati. Although he managed to save Thati by killing Phumulani, Melusi could not save himself from the law; he was arrested and sentenced to life in jail.

This confirmed the rumours that were making rounds on social media that Zolisa dumps Gomora for greener pastures. Indeed, Gomora was not paying him well as an award-winning actor, so he abandoned the show for better options. He is an extraordinary actor, with many memes that have his face; his services don’t come cheap. He must be earning a fortune from his new acting gig.
Zolisa Xaluva will be playing a lead role in the new Netflix film alongside iconic stars Enhle Mbali and Unathi Platyi. However, it’s not the first time Zolisa has been featured in films; he was a lead cast in the award-winning short film Kings of Joburg. He nailed his role to perfection as one of the Masire brothers.
