RIP Vho-Mukondeleli ‘Elsie Rasalanavho’ bows out of Muvhango after 25-years
We were all hoping that Vho-Mukondeleli would miraculously open her eyes after flatlining when her life support was turned off on Friday, but Monday’s episode confirmed our worst fears about Makulu’s death.
Vho-Mukondeleli had been brain dead for weeks, ever since the arrival of Rosemary and Nomasonto.
We have been taken through a roller coaster ride since then. In the beginning, Kondi was just unconscious and promised if her coming out of it were very high, and she did come out of it, but Nomasonto was there.
The problem started when Vho-Mukondeleli found out that Nomasonto and Rosemary were intruders and dangerous ones; when she was trying to run away to report that Kondi fell and hit her head badly.
After a few weeks, she started to regain her consciousness, and Nomasonto suffocated her, and that’s when she became brain dead. Azwindini decided to disconnect her life support, which is the end of Vho-Mukondeleli on Muvhango.

The role of Vho-Mukondeleli was played by Elsie Rasalanavho. She is one of the original cast members of the series. News of her exit from the show was informed in April at their 25th Anniversary.

James Motsamai, played by Dingaan Khumalo, gave a brief history of the character of the Mukondeleli Mondays episode. He explained that Vho-Mukondeleli wanted her son Lambani to be the King, so she took Catherine’s side and wanted Vho-Masindi out. Kondi mended fences with Vho-Masindi, and they had become sisters. A Royal Funeral is being prepared as Kondi was part of the Royal Council.
Vho-Mukondeleli will be missed for her fun-loving side and her nurturing abilities. After Lambani passed away, Kondi took in Mulalo, Azwindini’s worst rival, and always comes after the Chieftaincy in Muvhango as her son. Mulalo left Thate after losing the Chieftaincy, and Vho-Mukondeleli hadn’t been the same ever since.
She started feeling like she did not have any purpose and created a failed daycare centre and then went to live with Hangwani working at Dukathole. That ended with Kondi nearly dying after she got involved in a drug incident. Muvhango has released a RIP card to bid farewell to Kondi. Fans of the show mentioned that they were not ready for her death.
