Watch Muvhango shares videos of their 25th anniversary celebrations.
The celebrations have started for Muvhango. The Soapie recently shared that they have turned 25 years, and to celebrate, they took it back to where it all started.
On Thursday, the gang met up to launch the anniversary, and it was a celebration of all celebrations.
Industry friends and colleagues packed the Henley SABC studios to help the Muvhango family celebrate 25th birthday of the Soapie. The celebration saw old and new stars of the soapie share, break bread and go back down memory lane.

The first episode of Muvhango went on air on 7 April 1997. Some of the original stars of the drama graced the event. Singer and Actor Mara Louw, who played the character of Vho-Catherine Mukwevho and set off the whole plot of Muvhango, was in attendance.
Who is Vho-Catherine in Muvhango?
Vho-Mashudu was the king of Thate, and he was married to Vho-Masindi, and they had children. When Vho-Mashudu went to Johannesburg, he met Catherine and fell in love with her. He went on to marry her and had a child with her. Vho-Mashudu kept Catherine a secret from his Thate family.
This secret came out when he suddenly died of a massive Heart attack. He died in Johannesburg. When his family from Thate came to repatriate the body back home, Catherine contested the body’s release. That started Muvhango, and when Vho-Masindi found out about Catherine, she was ready to fight for her honour, but so was Catherine.
Muvhango celebrates its 25th anniversary in style.
Other previous actors of the Soapie in attendance were Rami Chuene (Giyani), Shoki Mmola(Skeem Saam), Mondli Makhoba(The Wife), and Muzi Mathabela(Generations The Legacy), Dingaan Khumalo and the legendary Sipho “Hostix” Mabuse.
Duma Ka Ndlovu, the creator of the drama and the CEO of Word Of Mouth, stood around a giant birthday cake with the new and the old cast. It was a night to remember, but the celebrations will continue on the screen. We will continue to see some of the Old cast get cameo roles and be a part of the new storyline.
In a statement they released a few days ago, the celebrations will go on for the whole year.
