Khanyisile Zwane hit the small screen like a hurricane when she landed a role in Scandal playing Gontse. In today’s episode, the actress makes a comeback, and her character is sure to cause havoc on the show. However, let’s get to know Khanyisile as an actress and a person.
Khanyisile was first introduced on Scandal in 2015, taking over the role of Gontse. The character was already established. However, the actress took on the role with talent, and the audience fell in love with her. Gabisile Tshabalala previously played the position, and Khanyi opened up about how hard it was to fill someone else’s shoes, especially when the viewers already had expectations for the character.
Her character as Gontse was that of someone laid back and dull. The character is the opposite of the actress as she lights up a room as soon as she walks in, and her bubbly personality is impossible to ignore.

Khanyisile was a Theatre actress before she landed her debut role on Television. However, after landing her role on Scandal, her theatre work did not stop as that was her passion. The roles she has landed in plays are too many to mention. In plays like Rethabile Headbush’s Blink, Khanyi Carol’s Tshepo Matlala and Eclipse: Phifalo yaNgwedi by Sylvaine Strike.
The Scandal actress also doubles up as a drama facilitator at National Children’s Theatre. Apart from that, she is also a model and shows a lot of Art in her modelling. Her Instagram is filled with pictures of her work from her shoots. Khanyisile has won awards as a theatre actress in the prestigious Naledi Theatre Awards and is respected in that craft. The actress born and raised in Soweto started acting when she was in High School. She studied art-related degrees at the University of Witswatersrand and is currently studying at Tsammu Playwrights to empower her craft.
