Is actress ‘Noxolo Mathula’ Lily Dongwe dead or alive on Uzalo?
Uzalo actress Noxolo Mathula who plays the role of Lily on the SABC 1 soap opera, leaving the show? Uzalo fans were left gasping for air as their favourite actress Noxolo who plays a police officer Lily was gunned down by a rogue colleague while enforcing a car hijacker arrest.
Lily Dongwe’s role on Uzalo is a descendant of the Xaba family, a police officer who has a close work relationship with Detective Mondli. She stays in KwaMashu with her aunt MaDongwe, cousins Nonka and Njeza at the Xaba house. Unlike other family members, Lily is the custodian of the law and works hard to restore peace and order in the KwaMashu community. She sometimes finds it difficult and necessary to go against the rule of law to save family members and close friends.
Is Lily leaving Uzalo?
The premiere of Uzalo season 8 saw show producers introducing new faces on the cast to stir drama and controversy on the storyline. The introduction of actress Thabisile Zikhali who plays the role of Constable Biyela, rose speculation about the possible exit of Lily on Uzalo.
Consbale Biyela is described as ‘an honest and well-educated woman determined to keep the department on the straight and narrow.’
Though Noxolo Mathula enjoys off-screen success through her hot dogs business, she has no intention of leaving Uzalo and is still relevant to the storyline.
Is Lily dead on Uzalo?
Uzalo fans saw Lily and other police officers on a routine patrol being informed about a just happened truck hijacking ordeal. During the arrest of one of the perpetrators, Lily and Oliphant were sidelined by a fellow rogue police officer who opened fire up, landing a bullet on Lily’s chest.
Will Lily survive a close-range gunshot? Uzalo teasers reveal that Lily will survive after being hospitalized and undergo life-saving surgery. The KFC church members led by Pastor Mbatha will embark on a fasting programme to pray for Lily.
