The Estate actress Sindi ‘Zenokuhle Maseko’s salary shocks Mzansi
Zenokuhle Maseko is a celebrated South African actress best known for her on-screen character on 1Magic’s The River as Mbali. She has been making all sorts of headlines of late with her unmatched acting flair on The Estate as Sindi. However, in the mix of things, she kissed her on-screen character of Mbali goodbye as she joined a starstudded cast of The Estate.
Her exit on the Mzansi Magic drama series The River was one of the most tragic deaths to ever beamed on small screens and will go down in the history books of soapie operas. Despite being one of the most feared and ruthless characters, Lindiwe’s character, played by Sindi Dlathu, had a breakdown as she couldn’t come to terms with Mbali’s death.
No doubt she has fast become that star actress we all love to hate. Her acting flair has wowed us, and we can’t get enough of the drama capped with thrills. On the Estate, she was cast as MaMtherhwa’s daughter character played by celebrated actress Jo-Anne Reyneke. She hogged headlines when she let the cat out of the bag to Dumisani that her mother was home with corpses.

In the wake of her newfound fame, Mzansi has been connecting the dots about her take-home salary and trying to compare it with that on The River. The story later had a twist when her mother took Detective Jo to the site in The Estate, where she found the corpse. Siya was even nabbed in connection to the corpse.
In recent years showrunners tend to pay their cast members based on experience, time on scenes and role prominence. No doubt she earns more from her gig from The Estate, given that she is a starring actress compared to a recurring character on The River.
Rumour mill even has it that the bubbly actress was given a bumper salary for her unmatched flair and offered a lead role in the next season. However, the news is yet to be confirmed. Several sources say that the bubbly actress earns between R40 000 and R50 000 per month on The Estate. We can all agree this is a considerable payout given that other showrunners have been paying their casts less than the demands of the industry.
