Former Ambitious Records members bid farewell to DJ Citi Lyts
Valentine’s day was a bittersweet day for Mzansi. We woke up to the tragic news of the passing of hip hop DJ and musician DJ Citi Lyts. As we know, there is a lot of crime in Mzansi. Sources say; the DJ was being hijacked, and for some reason, the hijackers shot his body with eight bullets. His former colleagues paid their tributes on social media; he will be greatly missed.
DJ Citi Lyts was once signed to the famous Ambitiouz Records label. He was signed alongside Emtee, Fifi Cooper, Sjava, Londie London, Ms Pru, Amanda Black and many more.

Today, the majority of the record label’s former artists are no longer a part of the label and, they’ve branched out to open their own. Some of them experienced their grief over his passing online.

Emtee

Upon hearing about the news, Entree took to Twitter to tweet a broken heart emoji. Fans reminded the Roll Up hitmaker that he and Citi had their differences.
Londie London
Londie posted her image in her Ambitious old days with Citi at an annual South African hip hop award ceremony in Baseline Newtown.
Sjava
Sjava posted a screenshot of Citi’s June 20th post from 2016. On the post, Citi was telling South Africa they weren’t ready for the musical powerhouse that is Sjava. Sjava was very close with Citi, and the two had a strong bond and mutual respect for one another.

Although he was never part of Ambitiouz Records, another artist who expressed his sadness over the death was Cassper Nyovest. Cassper, just like many of us, expressed how shocked he was. He said he was with Citi at KONKA not too long ago; it just shows how short life is.
