“Remember The Name,” Actor Mondli Makhoba prophesied about the rise of Gomora actress Nandipa Khubone.
South African actor Mondli Makhoba who plays the role of Nkosana Zulu on the Showmax series The Wife, prophesied the rise of actress Nandipa Khubone who plays Sibongile on Gomora. Before her television debut on Gomora, where she plays the Sibongile role, Nandipa met and greeted legendary actor Mondli Makhoba. Impressed by Nandipa’s raw talent, he predicted the actress would rise to stardom locally and internationally.
“Remember the name Nandipa Khubone,” Mondli Makhoba alerted Mzansi about the new talent set to hit the screens and take filming by storm.
Nandipa Khubone on Gomora
The 22-year-old actress who studies for a Degree in Film Making at the New York Film Academy in the United States of America bagged the Gomora role through her agency. Having returned to South Africa due to lockdown, Nandipa’s first Gomora audition video was misplaced by Sereti Films, the producers of Gomora. After submitting a second application, she was called and signed a contract to play the role of Sibongile ‘Sbosh’ on Mzansi Magic telenovela Gomora.
On Gomora, the Sibongile character is the daughter of Don (Israel Matseke Zulu) and Teddy’s step-sister. She came to Zodwa’s household in Alex with an attitude; she was friends with Tshiamo at school. At Gomora High School, Sbosh was friends with Tshiamo Molefe and found herself in a love relationship with Stompie, her father’s right-hand man.
Don’s sudden death unleashed a demon inside his daughter Sibongile who tormented Zodwa to avenge her father’s death.
Nandipa dreams of performing on an international stage in Hollywood; she is grateful for the chance offered by Gomora producers to showcase her talent. Locally she hopes to score different roles across the South African film production industry.
Mondli Makhoba’s comments about Sibongile on Gomora
Mondli revealed that he was impressed by the young actress’s talent and described it as an exceptional raw talent needing necessary support.
