Big Brother Mzansi Season 3: Acacia Madi’s life story leaves Mzansi in tears
We can all agree that Big Brother Mzansi season 3 has been living up to expectations since last night’s premiere. The premiere launch was held yesterday in Johannesburg in Bryanston. However, we agree that the season will be full of drama capped with thrills and priceless moments.
In just 24 hours, it seems as if the contestants have already run out of cigarettes. We can all agree that the room has more chain smokers than we all thought of. However, we have already fallen in love with some contestants personalities in the mix of things.
Despite all being said for a moment, Acacia Madi left Mzansi shuttered and in tears after she told other contestants her private life. The fast-rising model revealed that she fell pregnant in 2015, and her life went south since then. Her boyfriend ghosted on him and left her alone to clean up the mess to make matters worse. She had to foot her academics with money from her internship.
One of the darkest years in her life was when she lost her father and sister in the very same month. With abortion not on the cards, she revealed her pregnancy to her family and got a backlash.
Her mother denounced her, which forced Acacia Madi to seek refuge at her grandmother’s place. For years she has been battling depression but has managed to get better of it. But one thing she has made clear is that she doesn’t see herself being in a relationship after being betrayed. She hopes to fix her broken relationship with her mother. Moreover, she wants to be seen as someone in life and hopes the 2 million jackpot might turn around her life.

Detailing incidents, she revealed that their deaths came when their families were all both celebrating big wins in life. Her sister’s death shattered her as she left two sets of twins behind. In the wake of her sister’s death, she also lost her father barely a few weeks after her sister died. At some point in life, she escaped death by a whisker. She once had an operation, and the doctors thought she was dead. They failed to resuscitate her after being put in a self-induced coma.
However, one brave nurse had to defy against all odds and shock her to see if she could still feel the pain. She wept, and they knew she was still alive. She was then admitted for some time before she was discharged.
Her life story and speaking out about depression wowed Mzansi, given that of late, Mzansi has lost several people through depression. Recently former Generations actor Patrick Shai died after hanging himself in his garage. Rumour has it that he couldn’t take in the backlash of social media after he jokingly provoked Cassper Nyovest for a boxing match.
