Real Housewives of Durban cast revealed
Back with a bag, Real Housewives of Durban is slated for this year, and its star-studded cast has been revealed. The second season of the show is on its way back to our screens, and there are new faces on board.
Showmax teased the show’s fans with an image of the old and the new cast on the 10th of January 2022.
The cast received mixed reactions from fans all over. Many have expressed their dissatisfaction with the exit of Ayanda Ncwane. Fans have made up their minds that Makhumalo of the Uthando nes’ Thembu fame and the singer-songwriter Londie London are part of the new cast.
“Firstly, Mabusi should be a wife. Secondly, Ayanda should come back, no one slays like her, and her confessional were entertaining.” One tweep said
These are some of the comments:
“I’m gonna miss the Laconco and Ayanda dynamic”
“Makhumalo, Ayanda & LaC would have been an amazing trio”
“I’m not even excited that RHOD is coming back because Kgomotso won’t be there” 💔
Ayanda won the hearts of many people with her beautiful heart and her extreme fashion sense. The first season saw Nonku and Ayanda butting heads on many occasions. Nonku has a child with Ayandas’ musician husband, Sfiso Ncwane, with whom Ayanda has two sons.
On the show, Ayanda met with Nonku’s daughter and took her to Sfiso’s grave, and made her meet her son’s. In the last episode of the season, Nonku shocked viewers when she brought in her mother and revealed that Mr Williams, Ayanda’s father, sent a message that Ayanda must pay for the damages over Nonkus daughter, Nothile. Nonku claimed that these were Sfiso’s wishes.
Real Housewives of Durban cast revealed for 2022
The episode was so intense it caused many people to blame them for Ayanda breaking down. Some felt that this could have been handled privately and more formally with the elders involved. This then caused Ayanda to decide to exit the show. Tweets made their feelings heard:
“She feels like the show doesn’t respect her hubby’s legacy, which is something she has been trying to preserve,”
“She carries the show, they are going to have to find someone as strong and as interesting as her brand,” it added.
Ayanda has made some comments that imply that the show is small-time compared to her body of work.
“I recently saw a headline that only associated me with the Real Housewives of Durban, and I got annoyed because I have worked so hard building a brand of being a music executive. So for me to be associated with something so small whereas I have worked so hard did not sit well with me, and I decided that the show is not for me as I don’t want to be reduced to just being a housewife, while I have worked so hard for everything that I have,” she said.
Kgomotso Ndungane is another cast member who exited the show. She explained to True Love Magazine that she never saw herself doing more than one season.
“The season has come to an end and everyone is leaving to continue with their other commitments. It was great to be part of the show, meeting all the ladies and the production team as a whole. It’s been a great experience. The plan for me was always to do one season and move on to something else,” Kgomotso said.
The Real Housewives of Durban will air on Showmax on a date to be communicated.
