Having managed to stay sober for so long, a recovering alcoholic Zodwa gets tempted at MaSonto’s New Year’s Eve crossover party. Having been tormented by her stepdaughter Sibongile for murdering Don, Zodwa is pushed to the edge, and her downfall is on the cards. She turned into the shadow of herself, a behaviour that shocked Bongani and Teddy, with Sibongile hitting instant regret.
Turned to Bongani’s Shisanyama, Zodwa landed in the wrong company of Sdumo and Brains, who dangle money and beer in her face for twerking and dancing.
What does Phumlani want?
Phumlani’s arrival in Gomora stirred controversy. He comes across as the late Mbongeni Ndaba’s brother who seeks to pursue a relationship with his brother’s widow and connect with Buhle, his niece. Phumlani’s dirty tricks and violent ways to get things done show more to his character. MaSonto, who encouraged her daughter Thathi to date Phumlani, becomes suspicious of the evil serpent who frequents her house. Sonto suspects that Phumlani came to Gomora to avenge his brother’s death.
