Andile Mpisane failed to impress music lovers who attended a show at Zone 6 last night. Despite lining up amongst the best in the music industry, the fans had little movement as he attempted some dance moves with his dancers.
The show turned out to be an Amapiano affair as the headlines were DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small, Young Stunna and Sjava.
Andile’s many jobs
Perhaps Andile is overdoing it as he is involved in too many projects. Andile’s many jobs must be taking a toll on him. He is a musician, a DJ, Chairman of a Premier Soccer League Club Royal AM, businessman, and a football player for a club he runs.
Royal AM
The youthful football fanatic was installed as chairman of Royal AM by her mother, the club’s president. He is second in command at the PSL club and performs the management duties of the club, including making decisions on which players the club buys or sells. His love for the limelight caused trouble a few times, most notably when the PSL fined the club and its management R1,6 million for bringing cash onto the field, attempting to pay players winning bonuses in front of the cameras.
Andile Mpisane, the player
Andile doubles as a chairman and player for Royal AM. Last year he featured in the match between his club and Uthongathi as they were comfortably leading 3-1. He displayed a failed trick in an attempt to herald his first appearance in South African’s second-tier league. It remains to be seen if he will play again in the PSL, despite being spotted training, aiming to appear in the second half of the season.
Musician
Andile started pursuing a music career at an early age. He released his first single, Umcimbi featuring Distruction Boyz and Madanon. The song was well-received as fans got the first taste of Andile’s offering. The video was nothing but a display of wealth from his multimillionaire mother, Shauwn Mkhize. We went on to release Inkosi featuring Jumbo. The gospel song did not do well, a sign that the wealthy artist’s honeymoon was over.
The youngest club chairman in the PSL joined the Amapiano bandwagon and released perhaps his favourite song, ‘It’s Too Much Sauce,’ the one he plays in almost all his videos features Lady Du, Reece Madlisa and Zuma.
