Despite having a star-studded cast exiting the show, Skeem Saam has been making all sorts of headlines of late. It has fast become one of Mzansi’s finest. It is that fav drama series we all live to hate. But the drama series has seen a mass exodus of actors of late. Here is a list of actors who have exited Skeem Saam in the last two years.
Leshole Mabitsela
Rising star actor Thabo Mkhabela played Leshole Mabitsela. He has been playing the character Leshole Mabitsela for the first season. However, he exited the show in the mix of things, citing that he is temporarily taking a break.
However, on-screen, he bowed out in style after leaving Turfloop for a pilot job. His character got complicated after his on-screen father, Charles Maja, played Big Boy Mabitsela succumbed to a stroke.

Neither Skeem Saam nor the actor confirmed his departure from the show as his exit is part of the storyline and temporary. However, rumour has it that he dumped the show because the showrunners were not paid enough.
Thabo Maputla
No doubt he had made all sorts of headlines when he confirmed his exit from the SABC drama series Skeem Saam. Thabo Maputla played the on-screen character of Cornet Mamabolo. He confirmed his exit from the show when he revealed that he was taking a break to focus on his interests.
In the wake of his exit, he focused on his business empire, paying more attention to Digni Financial Services. However, he once hogged the headlines for the wrong reasons when he revealed that he was not getting much as he hoped for.
In the recent municipality elections, he was one of the Economic Freedom Front campaigning teams led by Julius Malema.
Actors who dumped Skeem Saam because of poor salaries
Jama
Best known as Jama on Skeem Saam, Oros Mampofu bowed out of Skeem Saam in style. However, rumour had it that he was fired. The showrunners revealed that he was not fired in the mix of things, but he left on a mutual agreement. The fast-rising had a fallout with the showrunners because he wanted more for his Jama character.
Lelo Mthiyane
Award-winning actress Amanda du Pont made all sorts of headlines when she exited the show to pursue other gigs. Amanda du Pont was cast on BET_Africa’s Isono as Mamba. On Skeem Saam, she played the character of Lelo Mthiyane. She dopped the drama series because she was offered a new gig with a better salary than Skeem Saam’s.
