Langalakhe Zwane is a seasoned South African best known for his on-screen character of Macingwane on etvs drama series Imbewu: The Seed. No doubt he is a jack of trades and master of all. Apart from acting, he is a celebrated on-air personality.
The bubbly actor was born on 29 May 1958. He was born and bred in Ladysmith in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Macingwane matriculated in 1972 at Vukuzisize Secondary School in Kwa-Zulu Natal. Financial woes and political demography saw the actor we all love to hate failing to further his studies.
However, in 2004 he finally broke the ice when he graduated from Varsity College. A few years later, he made all sorts of headlines when he bagged a gig on Khozi FM.
Of interest is the fact that the seasoned actor acting career started whilst he was 53-years-old. He joined a host of several seasoned actors who joined small screens at 63-years-old. In the wake of his first gig, he saw himself being auditioned for Uzalo gigs. From there, he lands a gig on Imbewu as one of the show’s signature.

No doubt he looks like American based multi-award-winning actor Morgan Freeman. His striking similarities saw him attracting continental gigs. He featured in several Kenyan films. The seasoned actor bagged these gigs because showrunners wanted him to act like Freeman. Everything was paid for, and the film was a success. In the bag drop of his big wins, he also featured in several commercial Kenyan Dstv adverts.
Even though he admires Morgan Freeman, he would also like people to respect him for his individuality. However, despite being thrust into the limelight because of his striking resemblance with Morgan Freeman, he intends to be admired individually.
In his recent interviews, Zwane revealed his lifetime wish to rub shoulders with Morgan Freeman. He revealed that he learns a lot from and hopes a hook up with him will open international doors. With his acting career now spanning for a decade, the actor has managed to amass a fortune. He has capped his celebrity status with the most delicate beasts of our times, including an expensive Mercedes Benz. His car fleet has a limited edition of the VW POLO GTI.
